I have to be honest, this wedding has me feeling pretty speechless. I am sitting here staring at the keyboard wondering where to start. First off, let me introduce Adam & Aleida to you. They are the most charming duo, and beyond that they have hearts of gold. When they asked us to photograph their very intimate and unique wedding day, my heart exploded.
To begin, Adam is a Pesce, which means that yes we are in fact related and just found this out recently. My husband is a serious coffee aficionado and would frequently visit Reunion Island in Roncesvaille. Well, low and behold, that just happened to be Adam’s coffee shop (what a small world, eh!). Brandon was going for there for over a year without realizing we were connected and buying coffee (which is our favourite) off of an extended family member. Fast forward, Brandon and I are in Reunion Island, grabbing a couple coffees on one of our relaxed Sunday hang days. And we meet this lovely woman behind the counter, who served us our hot drinks with a kind smile. I mentioned to Brandon that she was one of the most naturally stunning people I’ve ever met, and then she spoke and had such a soft, sweetness that I was captivated by her personality. Well low and behold, that was Aleida, the future wife of Adam, and now an extended family member to us!
Now that we’ve covered the history, let’s dive into their wedding. When these two messaged us, I just about jumped off my seat in excitement 1. Because they liked our work 2. Because after hearing about the vision for their wedding I know we’d be a perfect fit. Adam & Aleida started the day in the comfort of their home, surrounded by their families and two fur babes. They hosted a pre wedding hang, inviting all their guests to hang out and drink Busch & sparkling red wine (amazing, ha ha!) Their good friends and siblings headed out to the park across the street to install the arbor & get the ceremony set up ready. From there, we all wandered across the street to their favourite communal garden. The spot was an important part to their every day life, and they knew they needed to include it in their wedding. The beautiful September sunshine was almost peaking behind the horizon when Adam & Aleida made their way out of the house towards the group, brimming with joy before they jumped into their vows. Aleida’s brother officiated the ceremony, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. I found it absolutely adorable that the kids were just as enthralled by the exchange of their vows as the rest of us. From there we snacked on popcorn & candy and began our trek to the Drake Commissary for their party.
The layout, the vibe and the details were sweet & simple. This day was them to a core, and I am so excited to share this special story. Adam & Aleida, wowza, what a day. The amount love & joy that was felt on your wedding was beyond inspirational. The love between you two is so strong, we felt so lucky to have witnessed and captured such a special day for you two. So, without further ado here is the Unique Toronto Wedding of Adam & Aleida. I recommend grabbing a cup of coffee from Reunion Island and get comfortable because this wedding is one that I hope inspires others in the best way possible.
