Brandon & I were lucky enough to get to spend a whole weekend with Des & Matt for their Sir William Mackenzie Inn Wedding. If you are into charming bed and breakfasts, in a historical century old home, surrounded by the tallest, oldest trees, then I recommend booking a weekend getaway.
Des & Matt are these two old souls that captivate you with their genuine kindness and thoughtfulness. They both have this air about them, that when you’re around them you feel like your in the presence of Frank Sinatra or Mary Tyler Moore. They are probably laughing reading this, because these two are so, so humble and sweet that they have no idea just how stunning & captivating they are.
We started the weekend off with a very lovely dinner on the wrap around porch of SWMI at blue hour (a photographers freakin dream!) We drank homemade wine, toasted to the incredible events ahead and played beer pong until the wee hours in the morning. Brandon and I slept in a cozy spot on the top floor that overlook the grounds, and I remember waking up in the morning full of gratitude. It’s easy to be mindful when you are surrounded by such natural beauty and wow what a way to be inspired.
We woke up on Saturday to a sunny & beautifully crisp day. Des and her crew did some morning yoga while the boys played bocce. The perfect way to start to a perfect day. The homemade paper cranes (made by the bride’s mother!) were strewn across the ceremony, adding such a surreal touch to the towering trees surrounding us. We cried, we laughed, we ate cake and we danced until the wee hours of the morning. Without further ado, here is Matt & Des’ wedding at the incredible Sir William Mackenzie Inn. These two love the Lumineers, so naturally I am humming “Angela” while I relive this day. Congrats you two, so much love for you both.
