Emma & Matt, oh boy where do I begin. We had the pleasure of driving up to Huntsville, Ontario to be apart of their Portage Inn Wedding. I knew that this day was going to be an inspiring one, and that is the biggest understatement in the world.
There were sooo many personal touches like Matt’s Mom handmade Emma’s wedding dress!!!!! Right, I couldn’t believe it!!! Not to mention, she tailored Matt’s suit to a tee and filled up everyones bellies with handmade dumplings for the rehearsal dinner. Not to mention, Emma pulled together a lot of the florals and herbs from her own garden (life goals!) And I loved how all of their friends and family came together to contribute and bring their vision to life.
One of my favourite photographs is a moment after the ceremony, when Emma’s brother was overcome with happy emotion and her whole family came together for a group hug. I think the whole crew of us teared up at his reaction of serious joy for his sister. You know, it’s so nice to see a family to close and supportive of one another. I know that it took a lot for Emma’s brother to be apart of this celebration but it all came together and he was able to witness and to see such a vulnerable moment makes me feel lucky that we were there to capture it.
It may have rained, and have been unseasonably cold September day, but at the risk of sounding like an romantic shmuck, Emma & Matt’s wedding couldn’t have been filled with more warmth and love. Their celebration was one truly enmeshed in pure joy, love and family.
