I know there are many, many, many of you planning weddings that have changed and become more intimate in nature. Of course in light of things, this has become the new norm or whatever they are calling it. So many couples in 2020 have either had to postpone their wedding or opt for something a bit smaller. You know me though, small is best and less is ALWAYS more.
Tara & Gareth went from planning a two hundred person Berkeley Church wedding in downtown Toronto, to an intimate gathering of their only their closest while they said their vows on Tara’s parents front yard in Barrie. Obviously, the change was a drastic one from their original wedding plans, however I want to scream at the top of my lungs of how f*cking fabulous it was.
Let’s start off with the fact that they planned this damn wedding in two weeks after hearing the news that phase three was a go. We we’re in touch weekly, ready to get planning and get these two hitched. The had an incredible team of vendors, and support from family & friends to make their new wedding dream come true.
My heart is so happy for them. What a day they had. Not a cloud in the sky, beautiful warm weather. Almost everybody that they wanted could make it; although a tearful and beautiful prayer came in via phone call from Tara’s grandfather as he could not make the trip. However, you could feel their bond and connection by the simple phone call and words he shared to the newlyweds. I think that is what has challenged and encouraged me the most. How deeply connected we are in our relationships and it does not require a hug, or even physical presence. Support & love show up in life in so many ways. Especially now. And Tara & Garth were showered with support & love.
Okay, okay, I could keep going and there’s more I want to add. But I have to jump off to shoot another small intimate wedding today, and I couldn’t leave without sharing this special day. Tara & Gareth, you are strength & joy, you mirror the best our of one another and I am SO HAPPY you picked us to photograph your day. You know my heart ached for all that you two went through, but the wind only makes the trees grow stronger and taller. And I can see that nothing can knock you two down. Congrats, we love you, we we’re honoured to be apart of it all with you and we can’t wait to watch your journey ahead as friends. Without further ado, here is Tara & Gareth’s Intimate Home Wedding. Absolutely f*cking fabulous.
