Skye & Mike, wowzers, how do I even describe how amazing it was to work with you two. I refer to Skye and Mike as Lovely & Giggly. They are two of the sweetest hearts and I was beyond inspired by their kindness, openness & creativity. Their wedding was so THEM, and they even changed it during the day to reflect them even more. Keep reading!
Their families worked together to help Mike & Skye’s vision come to fruition. Everyone had a hand in helping these two and it was amazing to see the amount of support that they had. Skye’s mom knitted the most incredibly intricate macrame for their ceremony. And although it had been peed on by the cat the week before, it was absolutely perfect with no scents or stains! I was BLOWN away by the macrame (sorry in advance for so many photos!) I had just taken a mini macrame class, and I can tell you first hand that it is not easy to do.
Secondly, Skye’s father and her mothers partner, worked together to build the ‘Just Married’ bridge that lead the way to the reception tent. And what a way to lead in to the reception (as you can see it above!)
We originally had planned for a first look with Skye & Mike at one of their favorite places to hang out close to their home. So we ventured to the Briars to meet the boys, when last minute, Skye & Mike decided they wanted to see eachother at the ceremony. So, we planned a ‘Non-look first look’ which is something I made up. Haha, we walked Mike & Skye close together, with their backs against one another while holding hands. They spent a bit of time chatting about their morning, sharing in the excitement and laughing at what a funny experience it had all been. They both mentioned how much of a relief if was to have one another, and yet still have their first reveal to one another as bride & groom at the ceremony. There is an important lesson in this, although they had planned something previously, they decided to follow their gut last minute and change the plan. I think that is totally rad and I am so happy they did. And I know looking back, they’ll be happy they did too.
Skye is a designer based in Georgina, and did all the decor (again, sorry in advance for blasting you with so much beautiful decor!) Putting together such a beautiful & stylish wedding was a must on their list, and Skye totally nailed it. Brandon and I felt like we were swallowed into the Willy Wonka of weddings. Every part of their wedding was eye candy to shoot, and on top of it, they had a cool, September day which meant… the most absolute perfect light ever. Why I love this light is because people can stand in the sun, without getting too hot and sweating their balls off. And I am obviously a fan of sunlight as you can see below, haha!
Without further ado, here is Skye & Mike’s intimate farm wedding in Georgina on their family property with all of their closest. Thank you for trusting in us to capture it all, and sharing such a great day with us. Lots of love to you both!
