If you’re never been to a Cranberry Creek Wedding before, then put it on your bucketlist because it was so inspiring there! Brooke & Matt hosted their wedding at Cranberry Creek Gardens in Delhi, Ontario. It may have been the hottest day of the summer (no word of a lie, I am pretty sure it was at a high of 38 degrees celcius!) It was also the most sweetest day we’ve had the honour of shooting this year. I was SO excited to meet these two because I had followed along on their travels for so long and been amazed at how much they value and make an effort to travel together. It was no surprise to hear that they’d be taking off to New Zealand for their honeymoon. Of course, New Zealand was the destination of choice as Brooke is thoroughly inspired and obsessed with J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings & Hobbit books. (If you’re wondering if I’m bouncing off my seat in excitement as I write this, well yes I am bouncing off my seat in excitement.) I had discovered Brooke’s love of LOTR when I saw a picture of the inside of her arm, revealing none other than a tattoo of Gandalf. Immediately my heart jumped because A. to get a Gandalf tattoo you have to be very badass & B. we are obviously kindred spirits (currently working on a full LOTR inspired piece for myself!)
Brooke & Matt’s wedding was nothing short of spectacular. Their guests were serenaded by the hum of the Game of Thrones score while Brooke walked into the ceremony through the incredibly manicured and gorgeous laneway of Cranberry Creek Gardens. Matt’s tearful anticipation was enough to replace the sweat in my eyes with tears. And of course, with hot days comes amazing sunsets and we got to spend a quiet moment with these two as they were blasted with the hazy pink light from a humid afternoon. My favorite part was getting to chat with them during this time and hear about their dreams and hopes for their future. Side note, I TOTALLY recommend taking a bit of time during your wedding to take off with your partner. Honestly, it’s so important because I find it helps to be mindful of the present time and the events happening throughout the day. For all the couples I photograph I always take about a 10 minute slot of time called “sunset photos” but in all honestly, it’s more a alone time together. I just happen to be across the way shooting the moment as it happens in my favorite light 😉
Brooke & Matt, thank you for sharing your world with us. Every part of your wedding was inspiring and getting to know you both has been such a pleasure. I hope you can relive all the moments of your day again and again through these pictures. Continue your love of the little things, chase after finding your favorite vintage books, write the novel of your dreams and enjoy the journey. I have a feeling your journey is going to be a very special one and we can’t wait to follow along. Without further ado, here is their Cranberry Creek Wedding.
