The end of October went out with a bang. Alex & Tom hosted one heck of a celebration and blew our socks off as they wed in the jungle, I mean it was at Airship37, but I digress. Let’s rewind a year. I met with these two for a delicious coffee at Arvo in the Distillery. They shared their wedding vision, highlighting the point that there will be a ton of greenery to accent the modern, white space that Airship37 has to offer. I remember, watching Alex’s face lighten up as she shared her vision, a circle ceremony and literally being surrounded by their closest as they said their vows to one another.
Fast forward, it’s the end of October and we’re wandering around the East End with these two and their besties. It was truly an incredible day because a lot of the time was spent being present. No rushing around, no ‘forced’ photos, just a good time, with great people!
Their friends surprised them with a custom painting of their wedding evening! It’s actually one of the raddest & most thoughtful gifts I’ve ever seen. I don’t have the info for the painter but can source if anyone is interested. As you’ll see in the blog below, he painted throughout the reception as the events occurred. Man oh man, it was so neat to see the progression of colour, light and composition. Alex & Tom will have a forever keepsake from the wedding that I am sure will be apart of their lives for generations to come.
To end the evening, they danced to “Flaming Lips- Do You Realize” (contributing further their absolute coolness!) And we were all serenaded by the live music provided by the vocals of Michael Constantini Band. That wasn’t the end, my mistake, I forgot to mention that their friends went above & beyond again. Alex & Tom were surprised by many more “Alex” & “Tom’s” as the guests were supplied with face-masks on the dance floor and totally freaked them out. Seriously, you’ll see their reactions at the end and it was absolutely hilarious!
Alex & Tom, in the words of Wayne Coyne, “realize that life goes fast, it’s hard to make the good things last.” You two definitely make it last and made one heck of an impact on those around you including Brandon & I. It was truly an honour to capture your special day. Without further ado, here is the Alex & Tom’s Airship37 Wedding.
